Introduction

This website is owned and managed by Joanna Cottrell as the proprietor of “The Voltaire Bed & Breakfast” also known a Le Voltaire Chambres d’Hotes situated in Airvault, France. I am responsible for the collection and processing of any personal information you provide in connection with making a reservation at the above named in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulations 2016/679.

By using our websites you are acknowledging that we are potentially processing your personal information and where applicable consenting to such practices as described below.

Personal information we collect

We collect personal information from you when you use one of the following methods to contact us: social media, telephone or e-mail us directly.

The information we collect from you is:

i.                     Your Name

ii.                   A contact telephone number

iii.                  Any preferences you may have regarding room type, this includes bed arrangement, floor level and any dietary requirements you may have.

iv.                 A contact e-mail address

Please note If you send us an unsolicited cv, we will not open any attachments and your e-mail will be deleted immediately without response from us.

Personal information provided by third parties

The 3rd party sources we use are OTAs e.g. The Expedia Group, Booking.com etc. and via our own direct reservation system (provided by Free To Book). We only disseminate the information detailed above, with the sole exception being your address should you fail to arrive or in the event of  a cancellation, without sufficient notice to avoid a cancellation charge, the remainder of the information you provide to remains under their control and is protected by their individual privacy policies.

How we use your personal information

i.                     We store your information in a physical diary, so we are able to register your reservation.

ii.                   We may contact you to confirm a reservation or any details in connection with your reservation.

iii.                  To comply with our legal obligations regarding taxation and any other local jurisdiction regulations that may apply including security issues and the prevention of fraudulent activity.

iv.                  To issue invoices by post, in cases of non-arrival as detailed above.

How long we will keep your personal information

For compliance issues we will maintain your information for no longer than 6 months after our legal obligations expire.

Security of information.

We undertake to implement all measures practicable to ensure the safety and security of your personal information and to make it available only to those directly involved with the running of The Voltaire namely Joanna Cottrell and her family.

Your rights

You have the right at any point to contact us to request details concerning the personal information we hold about you, why we hold such information and who has access to this information. We undertake to respond to any such request within 30 days.

If the information we hold about you is out of date, upon request we will either update or delete the information as appropriate.

You have the right to request that your information held by us is erased. Upon such request we will either delete it or inform you as to why we are unable to comply with such a request, for example a legal obligation on our part.

Sharing your information

We undertake NOT to share your information with any third party other than a regulatory authority, the security forces or when ordered to do so by the courts.
