Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel a reservation at least 48 hours before arrival: No charge
If you need to cancel a reservation within the 48 hour period before arrival: A charge equivalent to your first night's stay will be levied at the full, i.e. non-discounted rate.
Please note: A cancellation will be deemed to have been made either by speaking directly to the owner or a member of her direct family. For those cancellations made via email it will be deemed to be agreed once a response has been sent by the owner.
Non arrival, without cancellation in advance, will be charged for the full cost of the reservation.
Payments
Payment is due on the day of departure and may be made by debit/credit card, cash in Euros only, cheques drawn on a French Bank account in Euros, and ANCV. For corporate customers we are able to discuss alternative methods of payment, this must be agreed in advance by the owner only.
Please note: Should any invoice issued by The Voltaire/Le Voltaire Chambres d'Hotes remain unpaid after the date of departure, we reserve the right to impose interest at the current rate determined by the French government, an administration charge of 10% subject to a minimum fee of 15€, for the first chasing letter. If it still remains unpaid we reserve the right to use legal methods or debt collectors to recover the outstanding debt.
We reserve the right to pre-authorise credit/debit cards, details provided at the time of booking, during the 48hour period before arrival.
No Smoking
In accordance with French law, the inside of the property is a No Smoking area, there is a smoking area available in front of the building. If you contravene these regulations, including leaning out of the window to smoke, we reserve the right to ask you to leave immediately paying the full cost of your scheduled stay as well as for an addtional 3 days to permit us to eliminate the smell of smoke for incoming guests.
